Which is the better long term investment..
a) have a practitioner treat a traumatic past or that which is
limiting me from achieving my full potential in life
or
b) learn NLP myself and treat myself |

Neither, nlp doesn't live up to it's claims. 3D Mind is much less
expensive and you learn a valuable tool you can use on a host of
problems. Plus you get a host of support if you run into problems
where in nlp, you get none, and a 100% money back guarantee if your
not happy with the product. Try to find any of that in nlp.

The two are not mutually exclusive. Nor do they exclude other
possibilities.
I like to think of my personal development as a process of developing
a set of tools that enable me to optimise my functioning in those
areas I choose as important. Some come from NLP, some from trad.
hypnosis, some from elsewhere (3D mind is indeed a useful adjunct in
this area IMO). But if a particular issue is causing immediate
distress and impacting on my life and the life of those around me,
I'll seek outside help.
Running a car efficiently is best done by learning what is useful for
you to learn to keep the car in tip top condition AND using expert
help when it is needed. For example, I was taken into hospital on
Thursday with a suspected subarachnoid haemorrhage. While I manage my
cholesterol with a combination of medical help and lifestyle
management, I'm not about to deal with the symptoms that lead my GP to
suspect brain haemorrhage by treating myself. Fortunately, haemorrhage
has been excluded and I seem to suffer from raised cerebrospinal fluid
pressure. I shall manage this by both following the advice of experts
and seeking to manage my whole body/mind state effectively.
Personally, I would suggest looking into someone with a formal
background in psychology and EMDR for working with traumatic past,
into 3D mind and NLP and other modalities to underpin your personal
development (working toward achieving your full potential in life in
whatever way makes meaningful sense to you), and keeping an open and
critical mind |
